I've never disliked her but it's fun knowing that she has a great sense of humor. Most of those examples were spontaneous responses!

By looking @ these quotes, one can see the Queen's sense of humor. I've seen "The Queen", and was able to understand Her Majesty more. She may appear cold and emotionally distant, but she grew up in a time where showing ones' emotions was a sign of weakness. One has to understand that she is a child of WWII. When the war began, she was 13 and at it's end she was 19. So in those 6 years she saw what no child should see, But also she witnessed a nation come together in the face of tragedy and become stronger. She had to grow up rather quickly in life twice, once in the war and after her father George VI died and she became queen. She may seem emotionally detached but in actuality, she's very close to her grandchildren.
She has the same type of relationship with
Prince William as his father had with the Queen Mum, Prince Charles was very close to his grandmother and it's been very widely reported that when he was attending Eton, Prince William would have afternoon tea with "granny" and they'd talk about school and his other activities.

the queen would always find it hard to connect with the ordinary people of this country she was not brought up as we were and has had the best of everything when we were given the choice in the 20s and 30s marg on your bread or jam you cant have both they were bloody hard times and unemployment was almost on the German level Bellies were often empty when we all tucked in the same bed to go to sleep

Yes. She's quite the lady, anyway.
It's hard to always live in a goldfish bowl. And, she does have a sense of humor.
I saw her once, in a parade. Open carriage, notwithstanding the chance of some crazy doing her in.

Not really. I don't have anything against any of the royals personally (apart from trophy ears and Harry the Nazi) but I just don't belive in the concept of monarchy, so nothing could make me like or respect her.

Yes. She understands the concept of noblesse oblige--which includes being gracious and good humoured.
