Nicknames are special gifts, whether people know or not. Very Special, and that is why people go and use them over and over.
Pet names, or something that someone says/calls someone out of a kind thought! Everyone of us likes to be thought of!.

So, what is your nickname?
Love Ava

You can get away, just stop answering to it when people use it.

From the time my son was little, when people called him something he didn't like he told them in no uncertain terms....my name, is you can call me this or this, I will not answer to ...............

A few of his nicknames have hung around, psycho and the enforcer, but for the most part he gets called what he answers to.

Some stick better than others. They called me moose in college. It stuck so well that a good percentage of people didn't know my real name. Be glad your name doesn't come from somthing embarrassing. I had a student that they called "Fish" because one time someone said fish and he responded, so it stuck.

It kind of reminds me of the maestro episode of seinfeld

My name is Denise and Nease has always been my nickname.. I like it.. Did you choose to allow someone to call you jellybean when you didn't want them to? This taught them that it was ok to call you that.

Umm, mine is Squeak, and I HATE it. People always go "awwww" when I sneeze (and I sneeze alot) and when I hiccup, and they say that it sounds like a mouse's squeak, so they gave me the nickname Squeak. Now, whenever someone says Squeak at my skool, everyone knows they're talking about me =[

Well it makes them feel loved. Its a name of endearment. And many times when you add thosewho are friends or aquaintances and family together they tend to spread your nickname around.
