No one is perfect - maybe they could make a list about you too. If they are not deliberately trying to be mean to you - then you have to find a way to accept their imperfections. Try to make a list of the good things about them. Some people don't have family left and would love to have a family, even if they're not perfect.

No, it's normal. We all go through times when we know we'd be happier if we'd been orphaned and/or adopted. Holidays make relatives millions of times more irritating too. After Christmas, take a break for a while (maybe in the forest?), and you'll start to feel better. For now, try to be nice, and don't poison anyone's egg nog!

It is hard to deal with dysfunctional people, least of all your family. You obviously have come to the end of your rope, and feel that they are interfering with your own personal development. Do not feel guilty if you have to do something in your own best interest, Know this--you cannot change them, but you can change you and how you deal with them if you choose to do so. Set up boundaries if you need to regarding them. Guilt is a worthless commodity and a negative motivator. Be stead fast in your resolve.

I don't either. The only reason I am going is because I want to show my daughter the value of family, forgivness and letting go. So if she dislikes me for something, she will have seen how to be the bigger person. But really, I don't treat her like my family treats me, so I can't see it, but hey... my family can't see the problem either (and that's why it won't get better)

Yes. You're being selfish and inconsiderate. My son is doing this right now, and take it from a mother, it's one of the most painful things I've ever felt.

Buck up and start thinking about someone other than yourself. It's not all about what YOU want.

Nope. Some people are stuck with lame a** families. We can't choose our families. Some of us luck out and get good ones but there are plenty of flaky families. How old are you? That will say a lot about how you feel about your family.

If you let people keep taking and taking and taking from you, then you can consider yourself worthless. If your family wants to drop its obligation to NOT make your life continuously miserable, you can sure as hell drop your obligation to keep in contact with them. It's not selfish at all.

guess you have answer for this question.

family = father and mother i love you.

addon to your addon:
if money matters, do within your means, don't get depressed over what you cannot change.
for your mom, maybe some check up will be necessary.

It depends on the reasoning for this. Have they hurt you in some way? Have you not been nurtured properly by them, do you feel they are hindering you somehow?
