While the name may sound pretty to you, it probably would be hard to live with. Cymbalta reminds me of a musical instrument however the other thing that came to mind is a pharmaceutical like the ones advertised on the TV for male impotence or a bad bladder. I don't mean to say that but it sure is how it sounds to me. What does it mean?

This is a name for an antidepressant.

I guess it's ok if you have aspirations for her to become a pharmacist. Otherwise..no, not a good idea, because, what's gonna happen years down the road when she needs therapy for this god awful name you've given her and the therapist prescribes non other but Cymbalta?? THEN she will know where the name came from, and probably be highly pissed that you named her after an antidepressant.

I think it is a very unique name but she may be teased in school. I have a unique birth name myself but it isn't as unique as Cymbalta. It does sound like a medicine, but if it is at least your daughter's name will be well known by people who take it. Keep thinking, and if you don't come up with anything better, I'd go for it. Good luck in deciding!

Isn't that a medicine for depression? Nice name, though.
