Try swinging at it with a broom. When you hit it, it will be stunned, or killed if you're lucky. Take it outside and feed it to the cat.

Hmmm...tough question. Does your apartment have an upper space like a storage area similar to what an attic would be in a house? If that's the case, you can try scattering mothballs around the possible area where the bat may be nesting. They hate the odor of the napthalene in moth balls and will leave that area quickly, and the mothballs will last long enough to keep them away.

If you can find the hole where he's coming in, cover it with 1/4" hardware cloth. You have to hang it in a way that will allow it to hinge from the top. He'll be able to push it open to get out, but won't be able to do the same to get back in. When you're sure there are no bats left ('cause there could be several), secure the bottom of the cloth.

If you can locate where they are living, like in the attic. Then just place some moth balls there. Spread them around some. This is poisen to bats and will get rid of them. Put fresh moth balls there every few months. This will keep them out. There are several other ways but this one is the easiest.

try catching it again and let it go in a different location. maybe the woods or something like that. if it comes back, chances are that it's a different bat. check all through the apartment for openings that it may be coming in from.

Sorry hun. while you're that scared, my suggestion won't be any help to you until you recognize somebody that ought to help you. My son & i exploit to get bats right into a house we had some years in the past. I took a huge fuzzy tub towel and swung it at him/her. whilst the towel have been given close, the toenails have been given caught interior the terry cloth. I then immediately threw something of the towel over it & tossed it and towel exterior. (Had an beginning waiting). It worked speedy and secure. purely a jiffy later i substitute into waiting to pass out & retrieve my towel (which went into the wash).

There probably is more than one bat. They are nesting in a confined space, either in your attic, or in the walls. Have a professional check your house, so they can be removed and relocated safely. Bats can carry rabies, so be cautious.

How do you know it's the same bat??? I've heard they all look alike, heheheee!!! Bats want less to do with you than you with them. Leave 'em alone and let 'em do their job of eating insects...

Determine its source of entry, and modify it to prevent future entry. It has to be gaining entry from somewhere. For example, it might be a clothes dryer vent with a perferated hose at the dryer connection.
