Buy the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler, or borrow it from the library, or from a friend. Go read the info at http://www.tcoyf.com. Learn about your own body and chart your cycles -- it's the easiest way to determine when YOU are at your peak in terms of fertility.

Charting involves taking your basal body temperature, checking your cervical fluids, and, if you can, checking your cervical position.

Go buy a basal body thermometer at the drugstore (these are more sensitive than regular thermometers); keep it by your bedside and every morning, at the same time, take your temperature. Do that before you get out of bed, before you reach for a drink of water, before you open your mouth to speak...you get the idea. Do it after at least three consecutive hours of sleep. There are charts online that you can see/printout; if you chart your temperature you will see a pattern; your temperature will rise after you ovulate, and usually dip shortly before you ovulate.

Charting also involves checking cervical fluids, preferrably a couple of times a day: the quality of that fluid changes as you near ovulation (generally, it takes on an egg-white consistency right before you ovulate).

And, if you can and are comfortable with it, checking the position of your cervix every day will also give you information about where you are in your cycle in terms of fertility (you check to see whether your cervix feels high/low, hard/soft, and open/closed). All of this is detailed in Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and at http://www.tcoyf.com.

If it's going to be harder for you to conceive, then you're going to want to ensure that you're having sex at your most fertile times. Chances of conceiving are best in the days leading up to ovulation, and the day of ovulation itself, with one day before ovulation considered as probably "the" most ideal.

Good luck.

The man should finish first then the woman (don't blush, I'm serious.. it sucks it up there). Then the woman should elevate her hips for a while 10-20 minutes.

You can learn to check your mucus. The easiest thing is to go to a class offered by most Catholic diocese, called natural family planning. You could read about it and try it as well. Cervical Mucus...

And then there's the morning body temperature that can tell you when your fertile.

Then, once you know that you can tell when you're fertile, you have the man wait. So he has plenty when the time is right.

Good luck!

If you are having issues conceiving and are still young- you might want ot check with the Doctor just as a pre-Conception check up- I mean you still have 4 months to go until you should really be concerned but I myself went to the Doctor once I made the necessary life changes (quit smoking ) and they just did Bloodwork and a trans vaginal ultrasound to make sure I have no cysts,PCOS, blocked tubes etc. Age has no correlation with fertility- a 20 year old healthy women can still have issues conceiving just as much as a 35 year old. It really has a lot to do with your Body and yor reproductive system.(of course you have advantages and disadventages with the two age groups and more or less possible complications- but in the reproductive science they have only to do with your reprodcutive systems) If you feel frustrated, the best thing is to just get checked out and get the bigger picture for yourself and your sanity ;-) Good luck ;-) hope this helps Baby dust to you... Ps. Just because you get checked out does not mean you will go on Fertility Drugs- but if you have Insurance Clomid is the least invasive and expensive fertility Drug you can try ;-)

I've heard that after an encounter you should stay in bed for a while, rest and elevate your feet to help those little guys get to their destination.

OK THIS MAY SOUND CRAZY I TRIED AND TRIED. I HEARD ELEVATE YOUR HIPS AND DON'T GO TO THE BATHROOM FOR 15 MINS. SO I DID THAT. WELL ONE DAY I FEEL ASLEEP AND NEVER WENT TO THE BATHROOM AND I GUESS IT KEPT THOSE LITTLE GUYS UP THERE LONGER CAUSE I GOT PREGNANT. MAYBE IT WAS LUCK BUT HEY WHAT CAN IT HURT DO IT BEFORE BED AND AS NASTY AS YOU MAY FEEL GO TO SLEEP AND DON'T GET UP AT ALL. GOOD LUCK
