How did the rivalry between jeff and matt hardy start and end?

Well it started out along time ago because of an arguement over Lita, which led to the Hardys breaking up and then going to different brands, then Jeff went to TNA for a short while...

So, just to clarify, there was no real rivalry between the Hardy brothers in real life, it was just all storyline. Anyway, they did begin it as a sort of fight over Lita. Jeff began accidently knocking Lita off the apron and diving onto her during high flying moves to the outside. Then, this made made Matt "blowup" and begin to get mad at Jeff. Eventually, Lita began to take Jeff side becasue it was all accidents and misunderstandings. This lead to a rilvary adn eventually a match at a paperview, Unforgiven, I think, where Lita was the referee and Jeff won. There was a long time, eight months where team extreme were off tv. The fans were just not into this storyline and WWE realized it was a mistake. They came back, all reunited, as if nothing happened. If you read the Hardy's autobiography, Exist to Inspire, they discuss how they hated this story and how bad it reflected upon the comapny. Then, the Hardys decided to got seperate way. Jeff was fired by WWE for things that had nothing to do with Matt or Amy/Lita. If you read any news about them, you'll see the brothers are closer than ever! Hope that helps!

There never really was any rivalry.Jeff got fired from WWE after refusing to go into rehab after agents found out he was using drugs.He went to TNA but got himself back into WWE in August.the 1st sign of a peace was when Jeff told the crowds on an episode of Raw that Ashley ( Matt's then girlfriend) was WWE's hottest Diva.
The reunion became official when Matt & Jeff were part of Team DX at Survivor Series.I reckon they're now back as tag partners permanently.
I read somewhere Jeff did have an argument over the Lita/Edge thing but i doubt it led to any rivalry.

Jeff had a drug prob,but before that in the script it had Jeff VS Rvd for the hardcore title the ref was knocked out,and matt came in Jim Ross said heres matt to help out jeff then he said wat the hell is matt thinking he twist of fated jeff then woke up the ref and rvd 5 Star frog splash jeff ONE TWO THREE.
after that they got in a fued then came jeffs drugs he would not go to Rehab and jeffs contract ended,then jeff went to TNA,then he did not show up at PPV's so he got fired then wwe allowed him back if he went to rehab and he did so then jeff got with wwe matt came back and now there back and the Hardys are back.

TRUE STORY! My wife & I met them at a house show in Pittsburgh on a sunday night. After autographs, my wife accidently called matt "Jeff". (she was starstruck). The next night on raw, Matt turns on Jeff. Later that night, on WWE.com, matt posts an interview on why he turned on jeff. He said he was tired of people calling him jeff, and Jeff "matt". I blamed my wife!

last spring we met matt again and told him the story, and he laughed, and signed for us again.
