Everyone says cheese but try peanut butter. It works everytime. Cats if they are well fed will just play with them like toys, but that will cause the mouse to have a heart attack and they die. I wouldn't rule out the cat. but try the peanut butter.lots of luck. I hate mices to pieces.

Look the best thing is go to the hardware store, and ask for the sticky strips. Put these strips around the baseboard in the kitchen and any other place you may suspect they are coming in. When they step on this strip there is no getting away. Just pick up the strip and take outside and put in the trash. These strips are really sticky, so do not put your hands or fingers on them. You will see how sticky they are.

0ther than a cat the best thing to catch a mouse is....ANOTHER CAT.
Seriosly, the best bait is Tunnocks Caramel Wafers. Mice are attracted by the sweet smell....they DO NOT like cheese

A piece of smelly fish seems to work as well.By the way, just because you only see one mouse at a time, don't let them fool you. There are probably others lurking waiting to take its place!

I have used malted milk biscuits, you have to wet them and make a thick paste that will set on the trap.
Also, have you tried tying a bit of bacon rind to the trap - this one is an absolute killer!!

Not cheese.. they like sweet things like chocolate.. I used it a Cadbury's Creme Egg (a small chocolate egg ) in a humane trap.

some cheese, a cracker, a small piece of bread, pretty much anything you can think of that is small, light, and can be eaten by a mouse
