so avoid confrontation, invite her to your party, as they say, keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer. ofcourse she is going to be hurt and upset if excluded from a party, and she will certainly talk about u, and cause u grief, is it worth it?

You should probably consider the friendship over. Why are you friends if you think she's a brat? And if you really were her friend, she should have been invited to the party, right?
If you believe this girl is a brat, you shouldn't waste your time with her because it will only frustrate you.
If the other friends do not stick by you then maybe you need to make new ones. They should be able to handle having 2 friends that don't get along.
She should ask you personally or bring it up, and then you can tell her the truth, that you find her "bratty" and don't enjoy her company because of her immature and irritating behavior. If she continues talking behind your back, then confront her.

How is it that you call her your friend? Why are you worried about it if she's so bratty? If you think your friends will take her side against you, then maybe the thing to do is to rise above. You be the bigger person, invite her AND your other friends, and try to be decent.
If you can't do that, then I guess you'll just have to deal with whatever happens. This is why it's always best to be upfront about everything. Stuff has a tendency to come back and bite you in the butt.

Oh, that happened to my friend too. She invited me and sum other gurlz to her birthday party, and this other girl as well. But she decided that she didnt want to invite "this other girl" and just told her that the party was cancelled, so that she wuldnt come (this is much worse than ure situation) and then the girl found out that my friend lied to her, and she got really really upset. You can try going up to her and saying "Ok, I dunt knoe WHY ure angry at me. It was MY party, and I got to choose who I got to invite, and I just didnt want to invite u, so I didnt. So stop acting like a brat, because it was MY party, not ures." And tell her off. If ure friends dunt stand up for u, then they're not real friends. I actually understand how u feel because my friends aren't that... supportive either, and I knoe that they would leave me if everybody in the skool started hating me. Well, I'm still just going on with life, hoping that I find a better friend... kk, well, I guess good luck with ure bratty friend,

Well I feel that honesty is the best policy so let her know where you stand.Let her know that you know she be talking about you behind your back and that's not your definition of a friend so that one of the reasons she Why not invited to your party. If you feel like wasting your breathe telling her all of the other reasons why she's a brat go right ahead. you may end up having to beat the hell out of her but at least she will know where you stand with her

Literally, you should leave her, she is not your friend if she is talking bad 'bout you. It is better to stand alone in the good side than stay where you don't feel safe or you don't trust. If people try to go against you after, then they are just as bad. Sometimes you won't lose friends but you need to find the right friends for you, otherwise things will get even worst than now. End it.

Tell her to take a hint. You want to have fun at your party, without all her drama. Maybe she'll rethink her behavior. I'm sure your other friends will back you up if they see you stand up to her. If not, then i guess they will be the ones who have to deal with her. You don't need friends like her anyways.

Tell her her actions bother you, and be specific. Don't be afraid to be the first one to stand up to this person.
Who knows, your friends may follow suit. I saw something like that happen with a girl like that...she just pushed it too far one day and people realized they didn't have to take it.

How can you consider her a friend? I wouldn't worry about not inviting her to your party.
