Okay girls, and maybe guys if you know anything about this...

Yesterday I went to Walgreens and got some foundation makeup. It should have been the right shade, but I guess since it's basically winter, I'm not as tan (obviously) and the color looked horrbile when I tried it on! Like one of those fake-faces, multicolored--it was gross. Anyway, I was wondering, since I have already opened the makeup, if I would be able to still take it back to Walgreens and ask if I could exchange it for the right shade? Thanks for the help!

the only way it would be a "health code violation" is if the store tried to re-sell the make up after it has been returned open!!!!

yes, they will exchange it for you....as youve read from people the used to be employees, they do....i also remember hearing a commercial on the radio where they say they will exchange it for you

lots of make-up counters do allow you to take back products you have opened. I have taken back foundations before. If they sway no, for some reason, you could get a shade darker then what you want and mix the 2 shades together to get the perfect shade for you right now. You would have a good six months worth to work with adjusting the colors together as you want.

I don't know about Walgreen's but Wal mart will take back make up that is the wrong shade. I know this because I've returned make up for that reason. They wont be out any money because they'll just send it back to the manufacturer as a defective product.

You should be able to as Walgreen's will just send it back to the manufacturer and still get credit for this. You may have to remind them that their money is still made, but you shouldn't have a problem.

Most likely no. Once you've opened and it used some no one will want to buy it because it's used. So by exchanging it, they lose two bottles for the price of one which causes them to lose profit, so I highly doubt they will let you. I would just buy the right shade and be careful the next time. Good luck. =]

Be prepared to be told no, because this is a health issue. Usually, makeup has a seal and if you broke it, that's the chance you take. But, if you want to, take it back and ask the manager on duty. If they tell you no, ask why? You are certainly entitled to an answer. Good luck!

I think you could still exchange it for the right color cause its not like if your taking it back all used up its brand new.

I know that Wal-Mart takes makeup back, even if its opened, so I don't see why Walgreens wouldn't.

i worked at walgreens before, and yes they will take it back. in fact, at the store i worked in, we took back bottles of foundation that had been practically used up, just because the customer wanted to return it. i can almost guarantee they will give you your money back. good luck:)

Technically i dont think you can take a product back once opened. But it is worth a try and so people are so stupid they probably wont notice its been opened!! The worst they can say is no!
