Laugh with them! To laugh at one-self makes you feel very good and other people like it. It shows that you are a very nice person. You will have lots of friends.
Good luck and God bless you!

It's never easy being the new kid on the block. You're trying hard to fit in but somehow they make you feel like an outsider. I gather that you are young, perhaps in your preteen or teen years? I'm sorry to say but adolescents/children are sometimes thoughtless and insensitive and even unaware of the impact that they have on others with their actions and words. Whatever the case may be, if you show others that you are vulnerable, easily intimidated, and shy, it makes you an easy target for the butt of their jokes. Be strong and confident because someone who is such in nature do not suffer the wrath of other people's insensitivities.
If you still do not feel comfortable around them then I do agree with others that maybe you ought to find other friends who make you feel valued for who you are. It's just simply not worth it to have shallow and superficial friends.
Have you ever seen the movie, "Johnny Tucker Must Die"? The new girl was desparate for friends. So much so that she gave up her own identity to do what these girls wanted her to do. Ultimately, I think she commanded respect and refused to do as they wish. Those girls, I thought, were users.
Please reexamine your friendship.

Ask them whats going on ask them if they're embarassed to talk to you because your new!
They might really like you but when ya'll are with a group of people they might try to act cool!
If that is the reason tell them that you are just like them! Everybody is new once in their life if it means transferring, moving, even first day of school! They all know what it feels like to be left out and remind them that they probably didn't like that feeling and now your feeling it!

if you are uncomfortable around them and feel this way, chances are, they may not be true friends. I would distance myself a little bit, but still give them a chance to know you.
Of course, not taking youself too seriously always works too but is easier said then done.

Just find yourself better friends. I know what that's like because I have been there myself. If they were your friends they would not make fun of you.
