Can a CPS (Child Protective Service) worker ask you to take a drug test at your home with an unscheduled visit?

My friend and his X had an argument about who was going to have the child over christmas. He did not want to give their child up so she called CPS and said all these bad things about him including him doing drugs.

So again:

Can a CPS (Child Protective Service) worker ask you to take a drug test at your home with an unscheduled visit?

Conditional...yes.

In almost every jurisdiction, CFS/CPS/etc STRONGLY err on the side of caution and will automatically accept ANY complaint / lie as gospel and start paper on it. It is always best to follow their requests...unless it's really offensive.

As to whether they can enforce compliance on such a demand, consult a lawyer in the appropriate jurisdiction - just because they can on one area doesn't mean they can in another.

EDIT: It is also conditional on the paper involved in the split ... if one (or both) partners have a history of narcotic abuse, then they may very well have the right to demand it on the slightest whim.
