How much is he spitting up? If he's losing about as much as he eats, you may have a problem. Maybe an allergy or something. But if he's just spitting up a small portion of each meal, it's possible he's swallowing air or eating a little more than he can handle. Babies don't know how to tell when they're full, and my son did the same thing constantly. Assuming he's gaining weight and showing no signs of allergy or sickness, I wouldn't worry too much. Just be careful with post-feeding kisses. My husband got a faceful of spit-up once.

my son is 5 mths old and he is allergic to milk he did this plus his stomach bleed he just went back to the doctor yesterday because he was still spitting up he is now on meds for acid reflux..spitting up is OK sometimes but everyday or at certain times.. or after you give Tylenol or anything else that sounds weird ..the baby needs to see the Dr Asap.I would take your child to see the Dr this may be a progress that takes time We are still trying to figure out if this will work for my baby..you know ur may best , then everyone else use your best judgment. With my son I didn't feel he was OK so I took him to the Dr.I have 2 sons since my baby has been born I have been there atleast once every 2 weeks for one of them..this is alot of money but they know I mean business and they try to help and normally due..My advice is if in doubt take your child to the doctor you could be missing something..that only special tests can tell.
also my son was so allegric to milk that he couldn't be breast fed ..I had to stop the formual Nutrimagen is the onlyhting that helped his stomach..Also I was told by a friend about Rice ..my son was still spitting up when I gave him that but so far on his new meds he is doing better. So some things may work fo rone child but no for others my boys are both very different. So I would take your child to the Dr you may have to try a few things but never, do anything without your doctors approval..it coul dcost your childs life. my son was on almost all the formula and had we not found out with an xray and stool test his stomach was bleeding he could have had some more problems. good luck and anyhtime your concerned call your child s Dr ask to speak with the nurse tell her what going on who your are an dask if she thinks they need to your child or what you can do ..This service has always been free for me and sometimes they want to see my child and sometimes they say wait ..if you're ev er in doubt or ? that they still need to see your child take them to the Dr.

My soon was born 11/22/06 so our kids are around the same age. First and foremost whenever you have a concern with your baby no mater how big or small always call the pediatrician first before you make any decisions. Now I was having the same problem with my son he was spitting up and before he was discharged from the hospital he was put on Enfamil Lacto Free milk, that did not stop the spitting up. Yesterday I called the pediatrician and he told me for every oz of formula add a teaspoon of rice cereal. I did this and he has since stop spitting up.

NEVER CHANGE FORMULA BEFORE CONSULTING YOUR PEDIATRICIAN.

Spitting up is normal; projectile vomiting is not. 2 of my kids at that age had projectile vomiting after feeding. It was diagnosed as pyloric stenosis and required surgery. If it's only spitting up then, after feeding, sit the baby up on your lap for a while and burp that way. Don't worry, they grow out of it

HI!
When my son was under 3months he used to projectile vomit constantly. I worried so much and a wise Dr once told me, " don't worry... as long as he is still peeing and have a b.m something is getting in" It put my mind at ease. Eventually it quits. You may want to switch formulas. Perhaps he has a soy allergy like my son, or may do better on another kind. My son did well on goat's milk. Its easier to digest. You can get it in a powder form like formula. Good luck! Hang in there- this too shall pass:)

its normal for a baby to spit up but my son projectiled spitup not only at feeding times so i asked his doc and she told me it was acid reflexes and put him on zantac it helped a whole lot he was on that from 2 months to like 9 months so i would ask your doc about it she may just have you put some cereal in the formula to thicken it up a little bit which will help keep it down, but it is completely normal for a baby of that age to spit up lots congrats on the new little one

The baby may be eating to fast or maybe the formula needs to be changed.

If its more of a vomit than spit up, the baby could be allergic to the formula. Get it checked out by the pediatrician!!

See your pediatrician and make sure that your baby is maintaining their weight. It is possible if they are being fed formula that it is not agreeing with their system and needs to be changed. Gas could also be a culprit. Make sure that you are burping after every couple ounces. Good luck!
