I am in school taking a networking class. I was thinking about going to get my certification in network+ could someone tell me if it makes since to learn the book and then go online a purchase the study guides for he network + certification. I am so confused I just want to pass this certification exam , I guess I am afraid something might be on the test that was not covered in class. I do not want to spend alot of money on study guides if all of the information is in the book.

It really depends on things like your learning style and how much you spend, etc. For instance, I can learn very quickly just from books. My wife, on the otherhand, does much better when someone tells or shows her things. For her, she would do much pretty taking a class, whereas I could get by just reading up on the subject.

Most Net+ cert study guides and books more than cover the material on the exam. Here's a couple that I prefer:

I would try and find them used...no reason to pay full retail price.
And I'm sure either way you'll do fine on the exam. Good luck to you.

Check this site, it offers free practice tests, and free other stuff to help you on the way, But also remember this, when you go to test, they have several different modules of testing that they can use, no one knows which test will be supplied at the time of testing, So Every bit of Information that you can stuff in the brain and use will make it easier for you, plus give you broader knowledge of the "Networking" in whole.. The book covers quite a bit, but not every possible scenario... I've been there and done that....

When I was taking cert tests and couldn't afford a bunch of books, I went to Barnes & Nobles and read books there ... that takes care of the money question.

If you truly understand what is in the book and search for free online study materials and questions you should be able to prepare w/o spending a lot of money
