I haven't tried this, but my friend swears by it...

Drink lemonade, orange juice, and water. Not together...I don't think so, at least. Just alternate between them.

I've also heard to gargle salt water. Drink tea with lemon in it. Honey also helps.

Sore throats shouldn't last more than a couple of days. If it keeps bugging you, see a doctor!

Best of luck!

Best Home Remedies to Cure A Sore Throat!
#1 REMEDY: Cayenne Powder Cures Sore throat

The best remedy for a sore throat (whether viral, bacterial or strep) is cayenne pepper. You may still need to continue the remedy for 2 - 3 days to see final results, so be patient! This remedy works when antibiotics do not.

Cayenne Pepper Remedy
If it is too late, as in strep, it takes gargling with cayenne in water every fifteen minutes until it goes, and be patient, because it GOES. I haven't had a sore throat take hold in 15 years or more, though many have tried to start up, which also is a way for many illnesses to sprout. I generally will gargle cayenne in water at whatever strength I like and do it as much as I can until I tire of it, and then repeat every fifteen minutes, each time swallowing a tiny bit real slowly (not necessary). It only stings the tongue a little when spitting out, otherwise, no discomfort, you can get used to even the swallowing part when you see how well it works. I use the cheap Mex. stuff, but also keep on hand in refir the pesticide free stuff from health store. Cayenne is a miracle cure for ulcers and so many other conditions, plus aids assimilation of nutrients and vitamins. I will keep cayenne in water in the bathroom in case I get up in the night, so I can gargle once in the night if I am very sick, but if it is in water, it will go bad quickly and needs to be put back in refridge in morning. Afterwards suck on a clove. I have never seen a sore throat that won't succumb to it.

Hot Apple Cider Vinegar & Cayenne Pepper
Our Recipe: 2 TBS of ACV in hot water with 5 dashes of powdered cayenne. Keep a spoon in the mug to make sure the powder doesn't settle. Drink as hot as possible. You will find the cayenne pepper dislodges mucous from the lining of your throat. Make sure you spit it out when it comes up!

I've been hearing and reading alot about a chemcical in garlic and onions that kill viruses and bacterias very fast, get a fresh garlic clove or sweet onion and chop them up...even mashing them...let them sit for 15 minutes giving oxygen time to activate the natural antibiotic drug in these herbs...mix with water and gargle with this solution. A couple times a day. Should work...but I am not Dr. House. It certainly won't hurt...might give you a temporary case of hallotoasis...bad breath is better than no breath.

A great holistic solution is honey and whiskey with a little bit of lemon. If you live in a dry county then you could drink lemon zinger tea and add honey. Another I do, especially when I need to sing is warm up some Dr Peeper and add lemon. Hope you feel better soon!

Oh and you could always gargle warm salt water.

Hot tea is great...chamomile tea with honey is the best for a sore throat (its sweet). FLuids are key.

Zinc lozenges give the most immediate results. the zinc coats and protects your throat. There isnt much of a taste. they are cheap. You can find them in a drug store in the sore throat isle.

Best cure for a sore throat (Old Italian Recipe)

Take one asprin and break it up real fine.
Put the asprin powder into a mouthfull or two of water, then gargle.
WARNING: That will irritate your throat. It is supposed to do that.
Then take one slice of lemon, with olive oil brushed over it.
Bite the lemon and suck it all down.

I don't know why it works, but it does. I swear.

I was in your position 3 weeks ago and basically asked the same question.
Unfortunately there is no immediate cure, but try numbing your throat with like chloroseptic throat sprays and cold popsicles or ice cream. & lots of fluids and soup helped me!
I hope you feel better!

Unfortunately, you may have strep throat, is your throat really red? If so, try drinking green tea with honey and lemon, until you can get in to see a doctor. If it's strep you may need antibiotics.

Depends on the cause of your sore throat.
Simple analgeisics will help, and also local anaesthetic lozenges will also help.
If its a chronic sore throat, stopping irritants like smoking may help.
Regular gargles may help also.
