Literally Bhagwati (Goddess) is the female version of Bhagwan (God) in Hindi Language.

But more specifically in North India, Bhagwati generally refers to some of the more higher "Devi's" - Ones paired opposite Bramha , Shiva & Vishnu as their consorts or dalliances.
