Every time I park my car, I notice there is steam comming from under the hood, at first I thought it was smoke, but it's not. And it smells sweet, like coolant. It's not terribly cold where I live. So is this normal?

Any ideas why it would be doing this?

maximum in all likelihood reason is an anti-freeze leak. The engine is overheating. once you've a gauge that shows the temperature of the engine it is going to typically be round 195 to 220 F after about 15 minutes of using looking on the exterior temperature. If it is going larger then that (over 235) then close the engine off to dodge severe engine damage. The leak may be so basic as a radiator hose or as severe as a head gasket. Have your motor vehicle appeared at by technique of a quilified automobile technician.

Could be your radiator. Best get it checked, bad things can happen to your car like a cracked head gasket which could cost you alot! A normal car shouldn't be steaming or smoking regardless. Hope it works out ok!

You have a leak, possible heater hose leaking or radiator boiling over..... check under the hood after you shut the car off.

Sounds like your radiator or radiator hoses are leaking. Lokk for leaks. This could possibly blow up your engine so don't wait. Also check your radiator fluid and see if it is down.
