DVD drive (read) for a computer is like $20.

LCD TV is like lots (and still doesn't let you watch DVDs unless you have a DVD player)

Comes down to preferance, but of those two choices making a computer being able to read DVDs is the cheapest, even over cheap DVD players for an existing TV.

Well, it all depends on where you'd be more comfortable watching....you can put the LCD TV anywhere. But, the new DVD drive is going to be a lot less expensive. If it were me, I'd opt for the new DVD drive.
