Curious how you know that "virus man", caused all the problems with your media player. I have reported this "man", plus I ran a "smartwhois". An I opened his link many times. I can assure you that he was big time into SPAM. Probably gets paid for every click on the link. The guy made level 7 in atleast one day.

If you download Microsoft Critical Updates for November, the second tuesday of that month. Their updates screwed up my Microsoft Media Player 10. No sound or anything. I updated to MP 11 and the problem still would not go away. (No sound).

I checked my sound software and the sound in my system was fine. In the end Microsoft, rolled me back to MP 9 an I am 100% fine. Things happen that you are not able to explain.

Try updating or rollback like I did.

Feel free to email if you require further help.

I performed a "smartwhois" search and the site is in China. Plus I opened the link and all my security in my sytem finds the site free of embedded trojans, spyware, adware and malware. After scan finds nothing with antivirus or antispyware. Just a spam site that has been reported by myself and thousands of other people.

The whole purpose of this run of the man test was not to spread a virus, it was simply a test. Now that silly website has over 6,218 links from yahoo answers to his website. And it will take yahoo some time for them to die out. Next time it runs those links will contain a virus or spam material. I doubt you have issues due to the site. I did see a video on the site, maybe that was infected, but I didn't see anyone complain that they got infected, so I assume it is just bad luck or just coincidence on your part.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

First, run a good antivirus to remove any virus; google avg free antivirus to find a good free antivirus with updates. Since i don't know the specific problem with your media player nor do i know what media player you are using, i would say you should reinstall it-- problem solved!
