What's so hard about classical guitar?

Since I began playing the guitar one and a half years ago, I have often heard that classical guitar is much harder to play than standard guitar. I have a hunch that it has something to do with the arrangement of the notes on the strings, but I honestly have no clue. Could some one clear this up for me?

Classical guitar is played in a different position and with a more refined technique. You hold the classical guitar on your left leg (if you are righty) and use a footstool to prop up your leg. In order to produce a quality sound from the nylon strings, you need to have the correct hand position and have long fingernails. Most of the notation includes combinations of chords, arpeggios, and other melodic notes. The combination can be more difficult than electric guitar, which usually plays either lead or rhythm, but not both. Without good instruction in the fundamentals of classical guitar, it is difficult to succeed.

Normally, a classical guitar has nylon strings. These are used more for plucking with your fingers, rather than strumming with a pick. Finger-plucking can be more difficult and require more coordination. The neck of a classical guitar is typically wider as well. This can be harder to play for people with smaller hands. Although playing classical guitar can be a little more difficult and require a bit more patience, it is still do-able. All it takes is practice :)
