I have skills including just about any sort of crafting you can think of, I also paint as well. Is there a demand, and what is the best way to get started?

Custom made gift baskets sounds like your best idea. You'll have to get a business license, a supply of basic items you'll stock for each type of basket you will specialize in. Baskets, filler, shrink wrap, enclosure tags and ribbons, are just some of the other things you will need. You will need to to decide what each basket will contain in each price range.Check other on line sites for gift baskets and see what they contain, and figure out what you can do different...to make yours SPECIAL.

It's tough and there is a lot out there. Try Etsy.com. or RubyLane.com. You can sell your items on both Etsy and Ruby Lane with minimal costs just to see what kind of response you get. I have tried selling on Ebay, but people there don't want to pay for handcrafted items.

Check out E-bay. they have a large voarit of crafts for sale on there. By now, only things that sell really well are up on more than one or two items.
