Are the Flats in Cleveland still a great place to go or has it become a "shady" place to go? I've heard different opinions... We were planning to head up that way for New Years weekend.

The East Fourth Street (between Euclid and Porpsect) is home to the House of Blues, Pickwick and Frolic, Lola, and a new chic bowling alley/club. Its very nice, but for a larger area, I would recommend the Warehouse District, home to many clubs, bars, restaurants, etc. The Flats area is walking distance to the Warehouse District but a world away and not safe.

A lot of the jumpin places have been closed down but there are still a few good ones down there- try the House of Blues or Hardrock Cafe-both within short walk from the square- the area isn't any more dangerous than it has been in the past

The Flats have gotten really bad. I live near downtown so I would know. I suggest you go to the new House of Blues the city opened in Public Square. It's really fun!

It is still a great place to hang out and enjoy running from bar to bar, club to club. No anymore dangerous than it has always been. It is a major city, just be careful and alert. Have fun. God bless****
