Loyalty points of a gas station or a store get you gifts.
"brownie" points you earn with your friends make you feel good.

Y!A points? You get to move up levels and get the chance to answer more questions each day. Other than that, you get a sense of accomplishment of moving up a level and helping someone with their question.
