I would say pick one of the ghosts, they will have more visual details and the rest can be creative from your own thoughts.

How about Fan, Scrooge's sister.
A few details, she died in child birth, asked scrooge to watch over her son while on her death bed, married against scrooge's wishes, was the only one to love scrooge as a child, mother of scrooge's nephew, visited scrooge while he was at boarding school ... thats a good start, I'm sure you can find a few more ... just watch the movie.
