Plleaaaaaaase I just want a computer that keeps it's state after a blackout.

They're working on it. There's a technology being developed, called "hybrid drives", which are a combination of a regular hard drive and flash memory. The flash memory will be used as a buffer, or cache.

The large cache, which will be separate from the standard hard drive, will cut down on the spinning of the hard drive, and also be recoverable in the event of a power failure. Hooray! :)

They're expected to come out early in 2007, but will most likely be first used for notebooks and not desktop computers.

It's not all sunshine and gumdrops, though, as there are some downsides to using flash memory, which are discussed briefly in the Wikipedia article linked below.

Flash RAM is not as reliable in some applications.

Buy yourself a UPS. It will give you enough time to safely close down your computer, and the trickle current will keep what needs keeping for generally as long as you need it to.
