I am on wireless internet (on my laptop) and am having trouble with my network connection. I am able to connect to my network provider, but unable to access internet. I keep getting a system error message saying "IP Address conflict with another system on the network." I tried changing the IP of my system, but it is of no use. I don't get the message then, but I cannot connect to the internet. Can someone help me out with this problem. It is a bit urgent. I am on my friend's laptop now.
Please help.

setup your router for DHCP, your ip address is not all you need. you need IP address subnet, default gateway, and DNS address, if you do not provide your DNS you cannot access the internet. enable DHCP on the router and your computer aswell. Also make sure you have the same security settings on your computer and router for your wireless connection. SSID, encryption type, and wireless access key.
email if more help needed.

First try to get into your wireless router configuration... sometimes the cause of IP conflict is when you configured the IP address in your router... try to check if you're using dynamic or static IP.. (in my case.. i am using static IP)
make sure IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway is correct.. Sometimes conflict on IP and Gateway is the reason...
Also, you may want to look under the wireless security settings.
Right click on your wireless connection then look for IP/TCIP properties... click automatically on IP and subnet mask...
Disable your wireless connection then enable it again.
Hope this will work...

Make sure the router and your laptop are both set to get ip address automatically. Also make sure your network is secure that way noone will be able to use your network.

try to check your IP address in the LAC.
right click on LAC (which is on Network connections) and then choose properties.
>> highlight the Internet PRotocols/TCPIP then click on propeerties..
>> if you have another window, make sure that the one that says "obtain an IP address automatically" is selected and the same as your DNS

Well, if you are changing ur IP, it would be incorrect..
obtain IP automatically if you are just using to your internet service provider...

wireless internet sometimes requires WEP and I hope you do not forget to setup for authentication according to your ISP.

hope this helps
