I'm a little nervous because of what i may seem. I Mostly cuz I like some emo music like Hawthorne Heights. My top 3 bands are: My Chemical Romance, Lostprophets, and Linkin Park. I like the typical emo guy's hairstyle, and i know it would look kinda good on me. but i cant do it. I am also a really good kid, and i average a C in school. what am i really like?

lol i agree most ppl are every label there is in some way but 1 thing DON'T LABEL i mean yeah sum ppl are stuck up but they have the same problems i listen 2 some hawthorne heights things and then i turn around and listen the complete opposite genre some ppl do look good in different hairstyles u can wear them and ppl may like them and not call you emo just do wat u want that day or any other day like i said every1 has a little of each personality in them

not one of the above. None of those bands are emo. Rites of Spring is a fine looking band that's truly emo - All that stuff is mainstream crap - now to not say an "emo" won't be able to pay interest to it, yet when it is your foundation - for sure not. Emo isn't about crying at evening. Emo isn't about desirous to die or decrease your self. Emo isn't about slicing your self. Emo isn't about skateboarding. Emo isn't about wearing black clothing. you at the on the spot are not emo - maximum emos would say, depending on the regulations you presented, that you're a poseur.

Stop labeling yourself. I listen to "emo" music all the time. But I don't consider myself emo, I just listen to what I like, wear what I like, and do my hair how I like. Just do whatever you want, don't worry about how people might label you.

You're only "emo" if you call yourself emo.
Don't label yourself, it makes you look like you need a stereotype for yourself to live purposely.
