Crap, I didn't know they were tearing down the Stardust. What a shame. That was a nice inexpensive hotel. Now here comes another $500 per night hotel that makes Vegas stupid.

Ok the Stardust is still standing very proudly!! They are not going to blow it up on New Years, I have been hearing end of Feb. early March. I also stayed at Circus last week and they had alot of moving vehicles at the Stardust. I also heard that they are going to build a $9BILLION hotel and casino and the lot next to Circus and the Stardust they are putting in the World's Largest Ferris Wheel.

I was in Vegas last week and stayed at Circus Circus, next to the Stardust. It has not been torn down yet. I was told they are going to implode it on new years day. Just another sign of Vegas growing. I'm getting where I'm going to start staying downtown to get away from the hectic strip.

Hmmm... demolished?? I was having lunch at the Peppermill across the street from it today and saw a building there.. So either they build real fast, or it hasnt been demolished yet.

Since it looked like it did on the day of the auction, I am figuring its still there!!
it closed Nov 1, sold everything Nov 17....

The guess is that it will become dust mid january

Stardust will be gone to accomodate the "Vegas rebirth" as Steve Wynn calls it. It will soon be a memory with the Sands and the Dunes!

lol. It was demolished in October. They are building a new Casino there (about $4 billion) to compete with Wynn. It was a piece of Vegas history and will be missed.
