My daughter really likes a book of this "genre" and I'd like to know more.

Manga is basically the japanese word for comic book and it has commonly become applied to japanese-style comic books. It does not in any way refer to the animated series-- many of which are based on popular manga. It is generally printed in black and white and has a very different feel then american comic books. If it is something your daughter is interested, she probably would be most interested in the genre of manga known as shojo. This word refers to manga and anime which is specifically geared to teenage girls and feature themes and characters that would appeal most to them.

Manga is the Japanese version of the American comic book. Its read from right to left because the book is directly translated from its original printed version and would be too expensive to flip the art for the western audience. Most manga have several issues collected in one volume. The types of manga in the market range from martial arts to teen dramas. The most popular in the market now is Naruto and Bleach. Bookstores and comic specialty shops usually have a section for these types of books.

Manga is commonly known as cartoons that are in Japan. Also they are like Comics if that helps. So it is not really inappropriate but that depends on the series. Well I hoped that helped.

manga is a book of different anime's....i love manga too..so that's why i never wonder why your daughter love it too....
