my sister in law took too many contraceptive pills in the past, but now that she wanted to have a baby she quit taking those pills of course, she got pregnant (she had 1month and a half), but suddenly when she went to her first appointment the md found out that her baby wasn't alive and today she had to get an abortion, so my question is if those pills are responsible of what happened?

Unlikely. Contraceptive pills are to prevent pregnancy nothiing more. There could be several reasons why the miscarriage like a weak womb. Advise her to check with her Gynecologist for possibilities so that precautionary measures could be taken to avoid any repeats.

Your question is a little confusing. Did your sister purposefully take too many pills? How long ago was this? If she was just following the directions and taking 1 pill per day, and stopped when she found otu she was pregnant, then most likely no, it wasn't the pill that caused her to lose the baby. If she was taking more than 1 pill per day or taking a lot of pills on different days (why would she do that anyway??) then it's possible that maybe her abuse of the birth control pill could have caused her to lose the baby.

When a woman is 1 1/2 months pregnant that means she's about 6 weeks and often at 6 weeks it's hard to detect a heartbeat, even on an ultrasound because sometimes a woman may believe she is that far along but may only be 4 weeks along and at 4 weeks a heartbeat is not visible yet. However, if her Dr. saw evidence of pregnancy but no heartbeat, he probably performed what is called a D&C. This is not the same as an abortion, this is performed when the fetus that was growing inside the uterus stops growing and is no longer living, and the woman does not miscarry on her own, often a D&C is done to clean out the uterus.

It may have been past use of birth control pills, or it may have been something else such as a genetic defect. She just needs to eat healthy and wait a while. Everything will probably be fine.

Many women miscarry their first...so many that you'd be surprised. I miscarried my first and found out almost every woman I knew had the same past.
