I agree, the media seems completely obsessed with the U.S. being the bad guy ever since Mr. Bush has been president. It's sad that so many people are so spiteful and short sighted.

Medias don't make IEDs or run planes into buildings. CNN don't go around blowing up its reporters. Media might have changed, but criticism of media is even more out of control. I don't know why you think America believe the media whole heartedly when there have been some of biggest shifts away from mainstream to blogs and whatever and everybody now day is complaining about CNN, FOX or whatever. Doesn't look like America believe the media whole heartedly to me. If you don't like something don't blame the world's problem on it.

Most people don't know how to put politics asside.
Fox is the conservative version of CNN.
They are both for complete idiots and I don't watch either, unless I'm high and feel like laughing at the incredulouty of the edited, schewed, factoided and sound-byted perception of the world we live in.
Now, as I said, I don't watch either, but I'm forced to assume that if more people watch Fox News, it must be the stupidest thing available. Maybe CNN should get Elmo to do the weather, maybe that will even things out?
They are both needlessly slanted and inflamitory. They both focus on talking points while completely ignoring issues of obvious and major importance. The reasoning is at best because real news isn't exciting enough or at worst because those pulling the strings would rather inflame an already existing situation than put perspective on a new one.

I agree and disagree with you. I do think that some of the media does have a tendency to sensationalize the news and give too much negative coverage but on the other hand, without the media, we would probably have never heard about things that we needed to know about. For example, what's going on in Iraq, the Darfur situation and the Katrina fiasco to name a few.

Depends of who/what you watch. You must know that conservatives think the media is liberal, & liberals think the media is conservative. Also, many feel the need to "blame" someone for everything. You need to be selective, get it from the horse's mouth, CNN is the best--Fox tends to evoke illogical controversy. If you're REALLY interested in the politcal scene, watch CSpan.
I don't bother to watch anything I would "question."
EDIT: Gosh I wonder to whom you referred as "narrow minded?" Such a diversity of responses! Perhaps those who didn't agree with you?

The media is very left wing in this country, but the public is also very uninterested in the politics of this country. I think anyone who votes in this country should have to take a quiz prior to voting showing they have a minimum knowledge of the candidates and proposals they are voting for or against. So many people vote for a candidate because their parents, grandparents, etc.. voted for that party. If you don't care enough to find out what the candidate stands for and what the issues are then you should not be ALLOWED to vote.

The thing is most Americans do not watch the liberal media anymore. Fox has more viewers on cable at 8pm than CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC combined.
The big problem is most Americans are so busy with their lives that they do not pay attention to what goes on. Then there are the ones that do not care.

The media reports the news. If the news is negative that's what we will get. Sorry to burst your bubble but this isn't Russia. The state doesn't control our news media.

This isn't always the case. It depends on which party controls the White House.
