i wait the five hours, and then pick a best answer. unless i'm not paying any attention, i might leave it for a couple days, but no one answers them after the first 10 minutes anyways.

If I don't get much response, I'll wait a week or 2, but usually 2-3 days.

I've found that after 4 hrs., not many more responses come through so I usually close the question as soon as I can.
