Please read the other comments if you are talking about the wild Blackfooted Ferret.

However, for domestic ferrets that is a tricky question.

Most domestic ferrets you see come from Marshalls Farms. Recently Marshalls has been breading their ferrets larger. I own five ferrets, all of which are from Marshalls. One is young and the rest are older. I have noticed that the younger ones are quite a bit larger then all of my older ones.

Now the sex of a ferret can affect the size as well as if they have been neutered/spayed. Males tend to be larger no matter what, however if they are not "fixed" they can be even larger. The females tend to be much smaller.

The color of a ferret has nothing to due with the size or the texture of their coat. Some ferrets have a soft coat and some have a wirey coat. Some are longer hair and some are shorter hair.
This is just like your typical domestic cat.

If youre talking about wild ferrets, the black footed ferrets are slightly bigger than the domesticated ones.
If youre talking about domesticated ferrets, European ferrets are slightly bigger than American ones. I had one of each and there was a noticeable size difference between the two

males are bigger in domesticated pet ferrets- are about the same length but weigh twice as much. Color has no effect on how big they are.
If you are talking about black footed ferrets (the species), they are federally endangered and are very small populations in the wild. No one should have those as a pet. They are trying to reestablish the population in the west (Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas) and started with only 18 individuals.
