Dont feel left out! i know exactly how you feel. everyone wears abercrombie because it is the fad (trend) But you know, it is reallly expensive there. Like you pay $30 for a shirt. Listen, you dont have to be like them. But if you really feel left out, look around for sales. Or use alternatives like- AEO(American Eagle), hollister, aeropostle, gap, Dkny(Donna Karen), and tons of other stuff!

There are many reasons, I'm sure:
They think it is very fashionable
They believe Abercrombie will increase their sex appeal, or make them look more attractive to the opposite sex. Why do I think this: Well if you have ever seen Abercrombie's seasonal catalog it is filled with young models giving very sensual poses to the camera; totally a call to attract the opposite gender.
They believe that by wearing Abercrombie (this is not just Abercrombie it is also true for any other expensive brand such as Guess, Coach, Seven Jeans, BCBG etc.and etc) they are claiming to their peers that they can afford such clothing; thus, they carry something highly valuable on the outside.
OK, great so far, but I think it is only bad if they are only dressing their physical body and if it is all they can dress. In other words it is real said if those kids have not much going on inside their heads. I would not necessarily judge someone just because they are wearing expensive clothing but it is truly sad to see young minds when that is the only thing they care about (unfortunately there are many kids who only focus on the outside but not the inside not because they are purely shallow but because the society is inclined to value such etiquette.
Good luck with everything... (I had my fair share of confusion while in school about brands and why people care so much...).

Whoa, some people on this thing seem mad at the world. LOL Maybe the kids at your school just like the clothes? There are some Abercrombie clothes that are really cute, just like with most stores, you can usually find something in there that is decent. :) Besides, a lot of people out there are into fashion and follow trends, and Abercrombie is popular right now. I think you should buy yourself one tee or something from Abercrombie and wear it, and you'll see you probably dont feel all that different. Or maybe you'll like it? Fashion is fun when you experiment. And dont sweat the fact that you dont wear a certain brand of clothes. All you need is self-confidence, and the rest will fall into place. :)

It's okay!! Abercrombie sucks and I'm a teen. Don't feel bad, feel free of the stereotypical teen image. Believe me, it's a good thing. Everyone popular wears American Eagle, and I can't even enter that store without feeling nauseous.

Dont feel left out just because people wear different things than you. I personally shop at abercrombie because I just find the clothes there fit my style and they fit me well ( I am very petite and its hard to find good fitting clothing) But I dont think anything less of someone who doesnt shop there..I think its completely understandable NOT to shop there because the prices are SO damn expensive!

Abercrombie is preppy, but so is American Eagle. Besides, Abercrombie is waaayyyy too expensive!! Have you seen their advertisements?!?!? They have really bad photos..I would choose American Eagle over Abercrombie or Hollister because they are both owned by the same people. =)

Its just a style. Its fairly good quality, fairly inexpensive. You get what you pay for with clothes. I work there, and their target audience is late high school/college. Their sizes run in Misses, which is considered older than the juniors(hs). its all in what you like, if you dont like it theres nothign wrong with it. I like to wear a bunch of different brands and styles, cause I'm all sorts wrapped into one, but the discount there is nice :p As for the kids who put it down, get over it. Hot topic is a chain store too, you say you do that to be different, but theres only so many ways you can dye your hair black and wear a fishnet shirt, so they should eat their own words. fashion is what you make it.

Teens and young adults have not developed a sense of their own identity, don't have the life experiences to develop wisdom, and feel more secure moving with a group philosophy, even though it may not be to their own best interests.

For example, communism is a total failure but for decades utilized young people to be "front line soldiers" in promoting their absurd political agenda and propaganda. Same idiocy we see nowadays with some (not all) tree-huggers, PETA members, and Greenpeace.

I'm sure theres SOMEONE at your school who dosen't wear abercrombie and fitch. Abercrombie and Hollister are the latest trend, and just like all trends, or fads, everyone's going to be wearing them.

Don't feel bad. They practically use child porn in their ads. Who'd want to support a business like that!

My kids don't wear abercrombie. My daughter likes Gap, Areapostle (sp?) and Rue 21 and guess what....we almost always get them on clearance.

Best to you. What is inside you in so much more important that what yo wear!!
