My boss keeps pushing back my payday and I'm supposed to be paid every friday. It's been two weeks and he still keeps pushing it back. IS THERE ANYTHING LEGAL I CAN DO TO GET MY HARD EARNED MONEY?? I need this check that I worked hard for! please help!

If you're in the US you can call your state's Department of Labor. Having the state calling him will change his mind real fast.

Sounds like you are getting the shaft from this guy. My dad used to work for a bakery growing up and said the guy used to do the same thing to him.

If you're willing to quit you could take him to small claims court. If you have documentation that you worked during the hours in question that you could provide as evidence then you would have an even stronger case.

Plus many small claims courts will let you roll all the court fees and filing costs into a settlement if you win. And probably you could get away with charging him a punitive amount on top of it for the time and pain he has caused you. So if he owes you 400$, court costs are 50$, I would file a case for $550. If the judge doesn't like it he can always lower it.

File a claim with your states labor bureau. You can do it over the phone usually. The Labor Bureau will be sure your check is sent, but it may take a little time.

Department of Labor....call them......You can bet that you'll have your check by this Friday.......and start looking for a new job....

report to the district or the supervisor.. your boss's boss.. don't let him/her mess with you and your money
