I don't know that he did what's best, but I think he was doing things without sufficient checks and balances and those are now in place.
Bush now has to work very hard to get anything significant done and he can't do more than the current laws allow.
Democrats are also going to be privy to a lot of information they weren't before and they can investigate any hanky panky.
There was a little to much Kafka in what Bush and Reptoids were doing. I'd sleep a little safer of the Dems gave a nodd that things seem acceptable.

The blame lays with the Bush adminstration and it's completely complacent congress. That's all I have to say about where the blame should go.
As for doing something in Congress, I can guarantee they'll be more oversight than the previous congress provided.
Just look at the numbers:
Back in the mid-1990s, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, aggressively delving into alleged misconduct by the Clinton administration, logged 140 hours of sworn testimony into whether former president Bill Clinton had used the White House Christmas card list to identify potential Democratic donors.
In the past two years, a House committee has managed to take only 12 hours of sworn testimony about the abuse of prisoners at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's pretty disgusting. And it won't be happening anymore. No more rubber stamping allowed.

Yes, they will blame the Republicans (who will use the same tactics the Democrats have been using during the Bush Administration). It would be fun to watch, except the media will go along with them and make it look like the Republicans have devised new mean spirited tactics (rather than report that they are just doing what the Dems did to them).

5. Blame the "gay pedophile corrupt rich racist" Repubicans
The Dems claim to be the party of education, but they lack imagination.

Maybe stopping Bush from enacting more of his domestic agenda is a good place to begin. Also congressional oversight.
With a Democratic majority, investigations. hearings, subpeonas, and inquiries can get rolling.......What will Dems do?
Let's see some accountability in the Bush adminsitration.
Turn over the rock and see what runs away.

yeah i'll still blame bush. what are the dems suppose to do within 2 years anyway. sure we're good but we don't have super powers. besides don't worry they'll have to do more good in 2 years than bush did in 8. they could donate $5 to a muscular dystrophy association and do more good than he's done in 8 years worry about that.

Hum....let's see, they will blame Bush first, then Cheney, the Republican Minority in Congress, and of course let's not forget, Bill O'Reily, Shawn Hannity, & Rush Limbaugh. It's all okay though because Nancy P's coronation will take two years, so I doubt they'll even have time to notice that things haven't changed!

are you saying Bush did what's best?
how can I say that he did "what's best" about two years in the future when I have no idea what is going to happen?
talk about unrealistic...
but, I really doubt Bush will start doing what is best, based on his track record... again... talk about unrealistic...

Ha ha ha ha. "It's BUSH's FAULT!!!"
You know, every time I hear that, I get a little more impressed that Bush really has "that much power". Presidents don't normally have a lot of power.
Unless Congress votes that he can have it. How about that!
