There are white Dominicans, black Dominicans, and lots and lots of brown and tan Dominicans.

That's if you mean Dominicans from the Dominican Republic.

There is an island named Dominica in the Caribbean where most of the people are black, and they are also called Dominicans

There are about 8 million Dominicans in the Dominican Republic, on the Eastern 13/20ths of the island of Hispaniola, and fewer than a half million people on Dominica.

I'm a dominicana and I can tell you that not all Dominicans are black. Some are of mixed descent (spanish, native american, or african)... Actually most all [a large majority of the population] of us are.

A lot of them consider themselves black but why does it matter?! We put way too much emphasis on race in this country.
