America is a continent but USA people refer to America as their Country, Why does this happens?

It's historical. Before the USA was the USA it was the 13 british colonies. It was actually the British who started refering to them as "Americans"...it just stuck. The USA was the first independent nation in the North or South America...so the term "Americans" just became more usefull and sounds better than "United Statesmen".

Actually, America is not A continent it is two: North America and South America

The United States of America is a country and people use two short forms of this name. United States is one and America is the other.

I'm from the U.S.A., and I can't even tell you why we do that. My best guess is that it's short for "United States of America". It's easy to say "I'm an American." What else could we call ourselves? "I'm a United States of American?" It just doesn't sound right. Anyway, that's my best guess as to why we do that.
--If someone asks me what COUNTRY I'm from, I'll say "The U.S.A." or "The United States." I don't say "America." Most Americans I know don't. Most of them I know will say "The U.S.A." or "The United States."
