no.. it's not true.. there has been several women who didn't even know they were pregnate until 5 or 6 months later or even when they have contractions and give birth because they "thought" they were having thier period
here's the scientific part:
"Some pregnant women have what's called "implantation bleeding" that can happen around the time their period is due, and they may mistake that bleeding for a period. This spotting may be caused by the fertilized egg burrowing into the blood-rich lining of the uterus, a process that starts just 6 days after fertilization, and it's generally a lot lighter than a typical period — just a day or two of very light spotting."

Some people can have their periods and still be pregnant. It's not all together usual but there are people who have had their period all through their pregnancy. She had her period that month and the next month she was pregnant. It would mean she would miss the next month. You usually have one period before you find out you are pregnant. Maybe I am reading what you are asking but that is what it sounds like to me. You did not say whether she had her period in the next month. But she probably got pregnant after her last menstrual cycle.

Believe it or not, it happens. Rare, but happens. A friend of my had her period during part of her pregnancy. She didn't know she was pregnant until her period stopped and she went to the doctor.
