Let's just keep him in the hisory books where he belongs. Mount Rushmore would self implode if you tried to put that face on it.

Of course. It's a public monument. If you deface something private that person or group can have you arrested and/or sue you. If it's a "public" property the government can, and almost certainly will, have you arrested. Mt Rushmore isn't one in which a defacement could go for any length of time unnoticed.

I'd like to see an individual carve anyone's face on Mt. Rushmore without a work crew and a whole lot of time and money.

Well since that is private property of the Feds, either way you probably are goin to jail for a long time. even longer when you mention explosives... just a thought.
