No. Kids get so bored sitting in a class for 7/8 hours a day! They need to get outside and run off some energy. School shouldn't be all work, work, and work. Should have some fun!!

Why?

Because kids (especially at that age) have A LOT of energy, and they need to blast it. Recess is good for that.
Without it, they would not concentrate as well as they could, because they have not gotten a snack and have unvented energy!

ABSOLUTELY NOT. KIDS IN THIS AGE BRACKET NEED A TIME AND A PLACE TO BURN OFF SOME OF THEIR ENERGY. IT WOULD BE CRUEL AND PROBABLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THEM TO STAY SEATED ALL DAY.
