Would a blow drier work, and if so, how much would it speed up the process? I'm going to need it to dry in at most two, three hours. Is that even possible? Thanks.

speeding up the drying process might decress the adhesive properties but I would try a hair dryer or for a nearly effort free attempt, set it near or on the heater vent and turn occasionally.

Using a mixture of half Elmer's glue and half water will give you mache that will dry faster than the traditional flour and water mixture.
You can place the item in front of a fan to help speed up the drying process.
Placing it in an oven on the lowest possible heat comes to mind, but I'm not sure whether that would affect the quality of the finished product.
Good luck with your project!

Is it a big or small project? How many layers are you putting on? I use papier mache w/ my class & I usually mix a little flour w/ h2o and Elmer's glue. You don't want the mixture to be too thick or watery. A blow dryer will help, but I don't use one. 1 layer is enough if your newspaper strips aren't cut too thin. Also, use the 1st finger & thumb to slide down the strip removing excess mixture. Not as heavy & dries faster.

Hi:

The answer is to heat it up in a oven on a wax or paper oven sheet. However! keep the paper under the paper ignition temperature or you will have a fire on your hand, So watch it very carefully! when doing it this way . Usually a warm setting or a temperature of 200 degrees will do fine. However a faster setting glue will better much better than the above next time you run into problem, you might want to check your local hardware store for info, on this.

This is why they tell you to start and plan your projects about two to three month in advance. So you don't run into problems like this and need drastic solutions.

that might work,if it doesn't start warping the paper & the glue won't hold right.
