I have an IBM thinkpad computer. I wanna switch my cd drive into dvd drive. I've tried playing dvd's and it says i need a dvd decoder. I installed a dvd decoder and it still doesnt work. The door of the drive itself says "dvd" on it. I go to My Computer it says "CD Drive (D;)" but when i go to device manager and then go to DVD/CD-ROM drives it says "Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-S200". It looks as if i do have a dvd rom drive installed but maybe its not configured right or something. I maybe be totally nuts but all I wanna do is make it so I can play dvds. thank you

Go to the ibm website and download and install the updated firmware drivers for the drive, install and reboot!
