Hi people,
Please do me a favor.
Could you please tell me this thing:

*Compare God Poseidon(greek god) with God Hapi(Egyptian God)? Tell what they have in common and what they have different???

* Tell: What all were the Greek gods who poseidon was related to? Use facts and details to support it.

Please, help me!

-First one: Hapi was more asociated with a river (the nile river) poseidon was related to the seas maily the mediterainian and black sea.
poseidon is represented more physical than hapi. poseidon is a buff and muscular man and hapi is reprecented as a plump guy. Poseidon is more temperamental. poseidon and hapi both have beards. poseidon is more seaish like, unlike hapi which hangs up with frog godesses. (remember that for the Greeks physycal beautly meant a LOT) well we cant forget poseidons trident (that fork)

the second one:
Poseidon was the brother of Zeus, Hera, Demether, Hades and Hestia. son of Chronus(Kronos) and Rhea, grandson of Uranus (Oranos) and Gaia(mother earth). he has a son with Amphitrite, it was triton. in the Odyssey the cyclopees are the sons of poseidon, he was also the father of the gorgon medusa, which after slayied gave birth to pegasuss, be created the horse (so it makes sence that pegasus was related to poseidon) he has a crush on Demether,(in some myths it was Hestia) so he creates many animals as gifts, he created the hipo, the giraf, the zebra, (all equine) and at last the horse, with she liked so much that he made many of them and then he made some for him which has a tail and swam (hypocampus, from there the name hipopotamus)
Other offspring of Poseidon include: Eumolpus, the Giant Sinis, Polyphemus, Orion, King Amycus, Proteus, Agenor and Belus from Europa, Pelias, and the King of Egypt, Busiris.
Also he competed with Athena to name the city no called Atenas, the one who created the most usefull thing for the man would win, Athena created the olive tree (athena's simbol, and one of the main simbols of greece and italy) and Poseidon created a salty pond (in some myths here is where he created the horse) Athena won (ps. if poseidon had won the city would have been called Possidonia)

I don't remember who Hapi was.

Poseidon is related to a lot of the Olympian Pantheon and he has a bunch of kids that are usually, like, waves or something. Sea nymphs.

But half the fun of doing your homework is finding the answers yourself! Wheee!

Hapi (Hapy) was the Egyptian God of the Nile. As you may recall, the Nile was the source of life for Egyptians! The soil depended on periodic flooding to restore the nutrients in the fields.

Poseidon was the Greek God of the oceans. (Roman name was Neptune) He was brother to Zeus and Hades.

Both Hapy and Poseidon were gods of nature. I'm thinking they were both depicted as plump guys with beards.
