ok..so my husband an i dont have a ton of money this year for christmas due to unforseen bills. so we decided to make baskets for family members this year.. in the baskets we put a fleece blanket, a sauce gift set, a jar with stuff in it to make their own chili, a tree ornament, an emergency cell phone charger, a mug, and a candle with a few variations depending on the person! also the woven basket can be used as a laundry basket when they take everything out.would you like this as a gift..or does it suck..be honest..thanks
merry christmas to all

It is very sweet!! There's actually a lot in there, you sure you didn't spend too much?
Maybe you'll rejuvenate an old trend in family gift giving where everybody makes gifts rather than buying a boxed item and simply wrapping it.
If you wanted to personalize the odd basket here and there, time permitting, you could use thread or fabric paint to decorate a corner of the blanket with an image or a monogram.
Happy Holidays!!

No, that's AWESOME!!! I would be thrilled to get such a thoughtful and functional gift! We all have so much useless, expensive crap laying around that we never use. Everything in your basket is immediately able to be used and enjoyed.
Great idea! Go for it and come back and let us know what they thought. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a return to prosperity in the future! (Darn those unforeseen bills!!!)

It depends on who it is for. Was it collected and assembled with their interests in mind? and is it from the heart? If the answers are yes then dkip the rest of my comment.
If no, then first give the person(s) some thought. I think a basket that sticks with one theme are best. Like a basket with a new movie, popcorn, candy and drinks. Wine, cheese, crackers and fruit. Board game and snacks. Etc. Just don't get sucked into the commercialization and get stuck in debt. The people that love you would never want a gift that caused that.

As an elementary school teacher I get a lot of gifts that go right to Goodwill. I would love to receive something so useful.

Christmas is about caring and thoughtfulness. I think your gift idea is right on the mark. I'd like that better than something ready made and bought from the store. WHY... it shows you care.

I think it is a very nice gift. You are giving practical items that people can use and it comes from the heart. I wish I had done something like this.

I just hope you took the time to try and make the baskets personal. If everyone is getting exactly the same thing it will seem like you didn't put much thought into the gifts
