when i put a disk in to my ps2 it begins to load and then freezes and starts to buzz. it also scratches some of the disks. the ps2 is about 3 years old and is one of the silver ones. this problem had been going on for quite a while now and it has bcome impossible to use my ps2. please help.

I had a similar problem it froze after playing for about 10 minutes.It also made a buzzing noise.This happened after I put a blank CD-R disc in the console and it was ruined.So I exchanged my old PS2 and got a new one from Sony.Just go to us.playstation.com tell them your problem and they'll tell you that you can exchange it for just $45 as long as there is no physical and noticeble on the outside of the PS2 if its an internal problem they'll definetly exchange it.I recently got my new PS2 about two months ago.It took two weeks to get a new PS2.Don't use a disc cleaner it makI thought it would make it better but it didn't.

that's what happened to my bro's ps2! take out the disc and u just have to get ur ps2 cleaned out! if u keep the disc in it will scratch it up!

that used to happen with mine when I played the blue discs(playstation 2 games)..it would usually seem to play the dvd playstation 2 games(the silver ones)

call sony if theres a problem they fix it for free even if u have no warrant, because there wa s alwasuit and they have to fix all problems not caused by the user
