I have this question on my study packet for my final in Zoology. I am guessing 'bony fish'? I don't know. Can someone help me out?

I'm pretty sure that you are correct. I remember reading somewhere that bony fish make up around 95+% of the world's fish population.

If I happen to run across something that confirms this, I'll edit this to include the source.

Osteichthyes is an old term. The most recent name for the Class of fish with ossified skeletons is Actinopterygii. This is the largest class of fish, thought I don't think it's 95% of them since sharks are considered fish as well. Tough question to answer out of the context of your class.

I seem to remember reading that most fish were related to the Catfish. What the actual Latin name is, I don't know. I hope that this helps.
