The Giants and the Falcons are both tied at 7-7, and the Giants beat the Falcons this year in week 6. But i read that the Giants dont control their own destiny, meaning that they can win out and not get the # 6 seed. So does this mean that the two wild card winners cannot come from the same divison? By the way, the Eagles are the other wild card leader.

Both teams can come from the same division. There are other factors than what you are saying that are taken into account, like common apponents, division records. It means someone else has to lose for them to make it in.

Here's where the Giants stand as of today:

New York can clinch playoff berth with:
1) NYG win + MIN loss or tie + ATL loss + PHI win or tie + SEA win or tie, OR
2) NYG win + MIN loss or tie + ATL loss + PHI win or tie + SF loss or tie.
