Your tank is way over stocked, goldfish need a minimum of 10 gallons each when babies so you can only have 5 in there until they get bigger. Check your water params, there should be no ammonia, no nitrite and around 20 or below nitrate. If any of those are high then it could be causing the tank to smell.

It's the goldfish. They are extremely dirty because they are always eating.

Rule of thumb is 1 inch of goldfish takes up 2 gallons of water. Now, even if your goldfish are 1 inch each they are taking up 20 gallons of water. I highly doubt they are that small, though.

There is also your bio filters. When they become dirty, how exactly do you clean them? Do you run them under the tap water? If so, that isn't helping any either. It sounds crazy but you need to actually clean them off IN your tank water. There are bacteria that help in the filtration cycle that grow on every part of your filter and when you rinse you parts off in tap water, the chlorine/chloromines in the tap water kills that bacteria.

My suggestion, if you want they to grow faster and be healthier, get rid of 8 of them. Find someone with a pond that might be willing to take the fish off your hands. When full grown, if is reccomended that you only keep two goldfish in a tank that size. And no amount of water changes or larger/more filters is going to help. If you insist upon keeping them all, get a 200+gallon tank. ;)

Hope that helps you some.

If they all live, you will be overstocked.
Adding a second filter would help.
Adding fresh carbon will help.
You should be vacuuming at each partial water change.
Rinse your filter media in discarded tank water.
You may need to step up your partial water changes to 50% weekly with one extra thrown in per month.
I wouldn't have more than an inch of gravel.

goldfish are nasty pig fish. Use some carbon in your filter or in a removeable net bag in your hang on filter. This will remove the smell and yellow color.

Consider getting something cooler than goldfish.

Goldfish are the worst! Get some real fish for your tank and change the filter. You need something with carbon in it to get rid of the smell.
