ok, first off,,,,i never wear makeup...i'm 22 yrs old.
so i go to macys with my two friends and we decide to try on makeup
the ladies at the makeup counter put foundation on my two friends. they look great and go to have their eyes done.
the lady does mine...it takes her 4 tries to get the color right (i'm yellow undertone...i coulda told her that much :))
then, she gets it looking ok and i leave
2 min later, the whole thing cracks....completely. i look like something from the black lagoon.
so the lady wipes it off, applies moisturizer and tries two more times with something else.
I look at it...it still doesn't look great....
she doesn't know what's wrong and sorta avoids any comments and nobody offers to do anymore makeup on me :(
so what's going on? Is my skin weird, or just doesn't work with their makeup?

lol. it was the mac counter....and 2/3 ladies did not look that professional. sure they were wearing the product and did okay on my friends, but they couldn't tell me my problem and honestly, one lady's makeup job made her look 10 yrs older than she was. didn't encourage me to try their product!

Are you sure you need makeup? It can age you and cause breakouts. Avoid foundation until you absolutely need it. The best thing you can do is use the proper skin care regimen. It is never too soon to start using moisturizer. Don't forget sunscreen! If you really want to try make up, invest in some inexpensive cosmetics and try them oout in small doses for yourself. There are books ut there to tell you what colors to use.

It depends. Every woman cannot wear the same brand of makeup. You may want to move around to other counter. My favourite makeup line is MAC. But it looks horrible on my sister, who is three shades lighter than me. Some good lines to try are Prescriptive, Sheishedo and Estee Lauder. I would check with the MAC counter first. They are all professional makeup artists, not just people hired by the mall staff. MAC leases space and does their own hiring. Just something to guide you in the right direction. I'm a makeup artist, and there were times I had to go out and buy lines of makeup that I'd never use on myself. Don't let this keep you from being a glamorous Diva.

okay wow!! you've never worn makeup b4 and ur 22~~~!!!
ok back to the point. It was at macys so im gonna assume it was clinique or somestore like that. I would recomend finding a sephorah near you. I go to that store lots and i luv it because they have a ton of makeup out for sample and you can try on a lot of different types. i would try a powder. like bareminerals because if its powder..it wont crack and you can put tons on and it wont look cakey...so heres ow you put foundation on if its liquid
1. dab a small dot on the two jawlines near your cheek..pat dont rub
2.dab a small dot on forehead and shin and sides of nose...rub inward
3.fill in any spots by applying a small dab to a q-tip and fill in

if you use powder...
1. take a BIG brush and lightly start at your jaw line and go in
2. second, do your forehead from middle out
2. do your nose and chin by stroking gently away (for chin ) and down (for nose) keep brush only lightly covered with powder..more doesnt mean better!!
but what ever you do...wash your face before applying
im sure your skin tone is just right in the middle of the 2 most common sklin tones so pleze dont give up..sephorah ppl will help you too!!
also, add some blush, maskara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow and your ready for a night out!!!
hope this helps!! if you wanna know anything else, just ask another qwestion!!ill be watching 4 your qwestions!!!

Don't worry. Its their makeup. Its probably been used LOTS on different people and been opened and closed a lot. Most likely it got dried out. ALSO. your skin wouldn't be weird...it probably would just mean you have different skintones that don't need foundation. My friend looks gray with foundation on so its really no big deal

no sweety its the actual product thats no good.......my skin colour is similar to yours and the best foundation that i use and i would recommend to you is by Laura Mercier...u will love it.
If you cant find that one also try Lancome photogenic foundation its also really good.
Trust me you need to shop around for a perfect foundation that would be suitable for you.....it literally took me a while and the two products mentioned above are the best..

Theres nothing wrong with u, it's the makeup. And anyway makeup causes pimples and oil on ur face, so it's best to put little or none on anyway.

Try it at a different counter with a make-up artist who knows her products.

it could be the make up it could be that your skin texture just can handel the foundation i dont usually wear any it makes my face dry and somtimes blotchy so just put some eyeliner on maybe som blush mascara ..

your face probably wasnt moisturized enough to put on foundation and she probably put on a thick coat. theres nothing wrong with u. try a light foundation.. one that isnt real thick and heavy.
